Marisa was requested to make something delicious for the holidays and she baked a chocolatey rolled-oats bar with Caneggs’ Egg White Protein Powder in the mix. This creation is a nutritious treat for festive parties, a healthy nibble to balance cookie swaps, or a protein boost for athletic families; the healthy and nutritious bars will be popular snacks in any household.

Festive Chocolate Oats & Pumpkin Seed Bars Recipe

Bright, chewy, and bursting with zest, these bars blend the protein of Caneggs’ Egg White Powder with natural sweetness.

Mix the required ingredients in a blender, but only chop them enough to make kibble, not dust.

Ingredients:

      • 52g Caneggs’ Egg White Powder
      • 130g roasted, salted pumpkin seeds
      • 100g organic, gluten-free rolled oats
      • 400g pitted soft Medjool dates
      • Zest of 1 orange
      • 3 tbsp water
      • 1 tsp vanilla extract
      • ½ tsp cinnamon (optional, for extra warmth)
      • 1 tbsp cocoa

    For chocolate indulgence, an optional topping:

    • 30g dark chocolate chips
    • ½ tsp coconut oil

Mix all ingredients before baking.

How To Make:

  • Add oats and pumpkin seeds to a food processor. Pulse until roughly broken up, not powdered.
  • Add Caneggs’ Egg White Powder and pulse just to mix.
  • Add dates; blend until all ingredients come together.
  • Add cocoa, orange zest, and cinnamon. Pulse once more.
  • Sprinkle in hot water and vanilla. Pulse again until you achieve a tacky, cohesive dough. Too dry? Add a few drops of water. Too sticky? Add oats.
  • Press mixture into a parchment-lined 8″x8″ pan.

  • Optional Chocolate Drizzle:
  • In a small bowl, combine chocolate chips and coconut oil (or lard, as seen below).
  • Microwave for two 15-second bursts, stirring each time, until smooth and glossy.
  • Pour and spread over bars.
  • Chill until set.
  • Optional chocolate icing
  • Slice into twelve protein-packed bars and store in an airtight container.
